SAG Award Stunners

January 24, 2010

Unexpectedly, I was more excited and inspired by the hair, makeup and attire at the 2010 SAG Awards than this year’s Golden Globes. There were a number of looks I found beautiful, but here are my faves:

Makeup – Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock is having a serious post-40 career ride with two major films in one year and so far, a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her role in The Blind Side.  Good for her!  But can we talk about her skin?!  It’s FLAWLESS!  If you find her makeup pretty in this pic, you should have seen her on camera.  Just perfection.  As such, she kept skin natural with a soft peach blush and let her eyes, then lips be the focus with a peachy pink shadow and gloss with a midnight blue eyeliner.  Sadly, the hair looked like something she did while getting ready and forgot to finish.

Hair – Christina Applegate

While I was excited to see that Christina Applegate was nominated for her role in the short-lived Samantha Who (I actually liked that show!), I was more excited to see her hair.  I thought it was fabulous!  Not only did she have the perfect part and height at the crown (just enough volume) and sweeping bang, but she has this amazing blinged-out braided bun.  It’s such perfect wedding hair.

Overall Look – Lea Michele

Glee star Lea Michele has had a fantastic week: first, a Globe then a SAG Award!  And to top it all off, she’s making everyone’s best dressed list, including mine.  She added a different flavor to the red carpet with a gorgeous green Catherine Malandrino gown.  The deep plunge, which would be too much for most, remains elegant on Lea Michele – and without fashion tape!  She also changed up her hair, leaving it down with cascading curls.  The actress has been consistent  with her makeup look – neutral skin and lips with a very defined eye and  lots of lashes.

I can’t wait for the Oscars!
