Best Blush Application for Your Face Shape
Many women avoid blush because they don’t know where to put it. No fear; here is blush application, demystified. Just follow the easy steps below based on your face shape and you’ll be good to glow!
Elongated Face
If you have an elongated face like Tia Mowry, you want to create balance by drawing attention to the center of the face. Apply blush directly to the apples of your cheeks. It will visually cut your face in half, give the illusion of more prominent cheekbones and highlight the widest part of your face.
Triangular Face
If your face shape is triangular like Reese Witherspoon, you want to apply blush closer to the eyes. This compliments your prominent cheekbones by framing the eyes. Be careful not to go too far onto the temples!
Round Face
When you have a round face like mine, the goal is to add dimension to give the appearance of a lifted cheekbone. In this case, you want to apply blush on the bridge of the cheekbone and directly below it. If you have a round face with more prominent cheekbones, you can apply blush on the apples of the cheek, similar to the technique for the triangular face shape.
Expert Tip: For those of you worried about looking like a clown and adding too much color, simply spank the brush against your arm or the blush compact to release the extra powder.
